CMP Rehabilitation Outside of Right-Of-Way Phase III - Measure P / CIP No. DRN0219

The City of Chula Vista is planning the rehabilitation of concrete masonry pipe (CMP) systems located outside of public right-of-way areas using trenchless lining technologies, specifically Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) for pipes under 30 inches in diameter and Geopolymer Pipe liners for those 30 inches or larger. Construction will involve thorough pipe cleaning, filling depressions with mortar concrete, and applying the liner using pull-in, spray, or spin-cast methods depending on the technique best suited for the site, followed by a final closed-circuit television inspection to verify integrity. Twenty-three sites are identified for this work, with six of them—locations #16, #17, #18, #20, #21, and #22—situated within or adjacent to Multiple Species Conservation Plan open space preserves, requiring strict adherence to Avoidance and Minimization Measures outlined in Section 7.5.2 of the City’s MSCP Subarea Plan to protect sensitive habitats and species.
