Federal Lobbying Services

The City of Charlotte is seeking a qualified firm or individual to provide federal lobbying services on behalf of the City and the Metropolitan Public Transportation Authority, with the goal of advancing their interests before federal legislative and executive branch officials. The Contractor must maintain a physical office in the Washington, D.C. area and will be responsible for actively monitoring federal legislative and regulatory developments, communicating the City’s and MPTA’s policy positions, and strategically engaging with federal officials to secure favorable outcomes in key priority areas including transportation infrastructure, public transportation, aviation, economic and workforce development, housing and community development, sustainability and environmental quality, public safety, stormwater management, local government finance and procurement, telecommunications, water and sewer systems, and other emerging priorities set by the City Council. All efforts must align with the direction provided by the City’s Government Relations staff and require continuous, proactive engagement across Congress and federal agencies to influence policy, funding allocation, and regulatory frameworks impacting local government operations and community needs.
