Gas Co. Road Solar Energy Project

The Gas Co. Road Solar Energy Project is an up to eight megawatt alternating current crystalline solar photovoltaic facility with an integrated battery energy storage system, to be constructed and operated in Taft, Kern County, California, along Airport Road between East Ash Street and East Cedar Street. The project will permanently impact approximately 36.78 acres of habitat critical to several protected species, including the giant kangaroo rat, San Joaquin antelope squirrel, San Joaquin kit fox, Temblor legless lizard, and western burrowing owl, all of which are designated as endangered, threatened, or candidate species under the California Endangered Species Act.
