Full Description

Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 6, Subparts 6.301, the U.S Census Bureau intends to contract to University of California, Berkeley, on a sole source basis, for the renewal of CASES software license, on a non-competitive basis. The value of the contract will not exceed $38,700.00. The basis for the proposed non-competitive action is that the University is the only legal source with rights to the CASES suite source code and is the only organization that can meet the Census's needs and requirements. This synopsis is not to be considered a request for quotations or proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice, but offers will be used to determine if a comparable source is available and more advantageous to the government. If no affirmative written response is received by November 7, 2007, a contract may be issued to University of California, Berkeley, without further notice.
