The Maryland State Highway Administration is seeking to procure a custom-built Hewlett Packard Z4 TWR Bse G5 1125W RCTO system to support advanced LiDAR survey operations. The system must be equipped with robust wireless communication capabilities, including gigabit Ethernet, integrated wireless LAN, and USB connectivity, to facilitate seamless data transfer and remote operation via a Windows 10 or newer device. It should feature a minimum of 256GB storage, either through an SSD or SDHC card, and include a high-resolution 10-megapixel HDR camera capable of panoramic imaging and live video streaming. The system must incorporate real-time dual-axis tilt compensation, support both automatic and manual in-field registration, 3D visualization, and cloud-to-cloud post-processing, along with target-based registration functionalities. It should perform self-orientation tasks such as auto-resection and traverse, and automatically filter out moving objects during data collection through redundant scanning techniques. Operability is required via an onboard display and wireless controller, with distance measurement capabilities reaching at least 150 meters at typical reflectivity, and a minimum 3D point accuracy of 6mm at 50 meters. The system must support high data collection rates of at least one million points per second over a 360 by 275-degree field of view, powered by sufficient rechargeable batteries for ten hours of continuous operation, and rated at IP54 for ingress protection. Data export options include LAS, POD, E57, RCP, and PTX formats. A manufacturer’s warranty of at least two years covering electronics, parts, labor, software, maintenance, and calibration is required to ensure operational reliability. This equipment is critical for the surveyors to analyze and interpret collected data effectively, supporting the agency’s infrastructure and transportation projects.
