Lower Putah Creek and Tributaries, and Peterson Ranch Maintenance Project 2025-29 (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-SOL-57335-R3

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SOL-57335-R3 with the Solano County Water Agency, represented by Max Stevenson. This agreement, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, authorizes the Lower Putah Creek and Tributaries, and Peterson Ranch Maintenance Project 2025-29. The project is limited to routine maintenance activities designed to maintain water transport capacity, structural integrity of existing facilities, and habitat enhancement. Authorized work includes sediment, trash, and debris removal; salmon spawning gravel maintenance; repair of culverts, roads, and trails; bank stabilization using biotechnical techniques; invasive plant management; and native plant restoration. The project is located across Solano and Yolo counties at two primary sites. The first site encompasses Putah Creek from the Monticello Dam to the confluence with the Toe Drain, including several tributary creeks such as Thompson Canyon, Bray Canyon, and Cold Canyon. The second site is located at Peterson Ranch near Lindsey Slough, covering Miller Canyon Creek, The Big Ditch, and four unnamed drainages. A Notice of Exemption dated August 18, 2025, confirms the project qualifies for a statutory and categorical exemption due to the negligible expansion of existing use.
