The Pediatric and Reproductive Environmental Health Scholars (PREHS) program aims to develop a robust network of healthcare professionals equipped with specialized knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of pediatric and reproductive environmental health. It targets new pediatric healthcare providers, obstetricians, gynecologists, and other healthcare practitioners by providing advanced training that integrates cutting-edge academic research with practical applications in real-world healthcare settings. Through this program, scholars gain valuable experience in translating environmental health research into useful information for both health professionals and community audiences. While the program does not permit scholars to independently lead clinical trials, it offers opportunities to participate in clinical research under the guidance of a mentor or co-mentor, fostering hands-on research experience. Administered by the National Institutes of Health within the Department of Health and Human Services, the program emphasizes collaboration and mentorship to ensure that emerging professionals are well-prepared to address environmental health concerns affecting pediatric and reproductive populations. The funding opportunity was forecasted on December 2, 2025, and interested parties can contact the program via Liam O’Fallon for more information.
