FEAD DELIVERABLE: CAT-2 Contract PROGRAM INFO: FY-26 potential CMP FUNDING SOURCE: SM-CMP scope; This project will accomplish the mandatory ten-year drydocking and inspection of Caisson 4. This project will inspect, repair, and refurbish Caisson 4. The Caisson will undergo structural preservation of the interior and exterior surfaces, resurfacing of operating and weather decks, seat seal repair, and internal structural repairs. Mechanical repair includes the overhaul of various valves, i.e., discharge, sea, sinking, check and equalizing valves. This project also includes overhaul of the pumps and check valves. Electrical repairs include lighting upgrades, replacement of all cathodic protection zinc anodes along with the overhaul of the pump controllers and valve operators. Site preparation includes ultra-sonic testing of the hull and production of updated drawings along with towing, staging, tooling, equipment, disposal, temporary services, safety and laydown. Test and Commission includes operational verification of all mechanical and electrical systems. Shipyard station support includes dry-docking services, temporary services support along with outage and schedule coordination. Although there are no known quantities of hazardous materials, due to experience with similar projects, it is anticipated that they will be encountered. Contract administration will be provided by PSNS & IMF. Justification; required by NAVSEA MIL-STD-1625D Safety Certification Program for Dry Docking Facilities and Shipbuilding Ways for U.S. Naval Ships.
