Telecom Service Data

The Bureau of Labor Statistics is seeking information from potential vendors regarding commercially available household survey data on monthly wireless and wireline telecommunications service plans to inform the accuracy and relevance of its economic indexes. The focus is on obtaining a full purchase of one year of survey data beginning in 2025, covering residential services such as landline telephone, internet access, cable and satellite television, bundled packages, and wireless telephone services. Vendors must provide detailed data including the calendar month of survey completion, respondent ZIP code, service provider, specific package names, length of customer tenure, contract status, and key features such as internet speeds, data limits, transmission technology, and channel counts. The data must be existing and commercially available, not collected exclusively for the BLS, and vendors will not be granted access to any BLS data. Responses must be submitted via email by 10:00 AM EST on June 29, 2026, and are limited to 30 pages in Microsoft Word format using Times New Roman 11- or 12-point font with one-inch margins. A cover letter, responses to general questions, a capabilities package including rough order of magnitude pricing, and any supporting marketing materials must be included. This is a sources-sought request for information, not a solicitation, and the government does not intend to award a contract based on responses. The notice is issued under FAR 15.201(e), making all submissions non-binding and non-offerative, with respondents bearing all associated costs.
