Project to assess the existing Waiawa Pump Station electrical system, identify options for replacement and upgrade, and provide recommendations including cost estimates. The existing Waiawa Pump Station electrical equipment and switchgear was originally installed in 1955. Due to the age, there have been difficulties in obtaining replacement parts. Portions of the electrical system was revised in 2013, however, the overall system requires upgrade and replacement to meet current standards and needs. The Waiawa Pump Station is the primary source and is responsible for supplying up to18 million gallons or 80% of the fresh water that services JBPHH. Due to the Red Hill fuel contamination incident, the station is currently providing 100% of JBPHH water demand. It is critical that the pump station is able to maintain current and future operations. Project preference is for AE design and design-bid-build process. Project will require a charette to confirm the design scope; planning and EV documents; and generation of design documents (i.e. basis of design, cost estimate, construction plans, specifications, etc.).
