Integrate PIEE with CLEATUS (DoD solicitation notices)
Connect your PIEE account so DoD solicitations directed at your CAGE import into CLEATUS automatically. CLEATUS registers the PIEE Vendor account for you.
PIEE (Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment) is the DoD's contracting portal. When a contracting officer posts a solicitation and directs it at a contract vehicle, PIEE emails the registered users at every CAGE on that vehicle's distribution list. This integration brings those directed notices into CLEATUS, so they land alongside your other opportunities instead of in an inbox.
Unlike the GSA eBuy and SeaPort NxG connectors, you do not add a Point of Contact yourself. CLEATUS registers a PIEE Vendor account under your CAGE for you; your Contractor Account Manager (CAM) approves it.
This feature is currently in beta. Some functionality may change as we continue to refine it.
Who this is for
DoD contractors whose CAGE is on a PIEE contract vehicle (SeaPort NxG and others) and who want solicitations directed at their company to appear in CLEATUS for matching, alerts, and proposal support.
What you'll need
- A CAGE code that is already set up in PIEE, meaning it has a Group and a Contractor Account Manager (CAM). CLEATUS cannot create these for you.
- Your CAM available to approve one role request. They receive the request by email from PIEE.
- A CLEATUS plan that includes Integrations (DATA + AI + Automations or higher).
Setup (about 5 minutes, plus your CAM's approval)
1. Open the PIEE integration in CLEATUS
Open Settings in the left sidebar, go to Integrations, and choose PIEE.
2. Confirm the CAGE code
CLEATUS uses the CAGE from your SAM profile and shows it on the page. If no CAGE is on file, enter your 5-character CAGE. To register under a different CAGE, choose Use a different CAGE.
3. Click Connect PIEE
CLEATUS first checks that your CAGE has a Group and an account administrator in PIEE, then registers a Vendor account under it. The status shows Connecting while this runs, which usually takes a few minutes. You can leave the page and come back.
If your CAGE has no Group or CAM in PIEE, the status becomes CAGE Not in PIEE. Establish those in PIEE, then retry from the same page.
4. Your CAM activates the role
PIEE asks your Contractor Account Manager to activate the SOL / Proposal View Only role on the new account. The status in CLEATUS shows Pending Activation until they do. This step is entirely on your side and can take a few days, so it is worth telling your CAM to expect the request.
When PIEE sends the activation notice, CLEATUS switches the connector to Connected on its own. The integration page does not watch for this in real time, so if you have it open while your CAM approves, reload it to see the new status. Nothing else is required from you.
5. Receive directed solicitations automatically
Once Connected, notices directed at your CAGE import as they are sent. To view them, go to Contracts → Imported Contracts in the left sidebar and open the PIEE tab.
Connection statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Not Connected | The connector has not been set up yet. |
| Connecting | CLEATUS is verifying your CAGE and registering the Vendor account. |
| Pending Activation | The account exists; your CAM still needs to activate the Proposal View Only role. |
| CAGE Not in PIEE | Your CAGE has no Group or CAM in PIEE yet. Set that up in PIEE, then retry. |
| Error | The last attempt failed. Retry from the integration page. |
| Connected | Directed solicitations are importing. |
Retrying is safe. CLEATUS will not start a second registration while one is already in flight or the account is registered, so you cannot end up with duplicate PIEE accounts.
What shows up in the PIEE tab
A directed notice is an alert from a contracting officer, not the full solicitation package. SAM.gov normally publishes the same solicitation within about a day, with the complete record and the RFP attached. CLEATUS treats the two as one opportunity:
- Matched notices appear as a standard contract card, with documents, scoring, and the usual pipeline actions.
- Notices still awaiting the full record appear with the details from the PIEE email alone (notice ID, contracting office, NAICS and PSC, description) and a note that CLEATUS is waiting on the rest. They fill in on their own once the public record lands. No action needed.
Security and permissions
- The role CLEATUS requests is Proposal View Only, which is read-only. CLEATUS never submits a proposal, quote, or any other document in PIEE on your behalf.
- The account is created and operated by CLEATUS, and is declared to PIEE during registration as an automated (BOT/RPA) account. It is separate from the PIEE accounts your team uses.
- CLEATUS generates the account's password and security answers and stores them in a dedicated secrets vault. They are never emailed to you or shown in the app.
- The account is registered to your CAGE, and its notification address is a CLEATUS integration email unique to your company. It is shown on the PIEE integration page.
- Your CAM controls the access. Nothing is active until they approve it, and they can deactivate the role in PIEE at any time.
Disconnect
Ask your CAM to deactivate the CLEATUS account's role in PIEE, which stops the notices at the source. Contact support if you also want the connector reset in CLEATUS, for example to re-register under a different CAGE.
