Connect Slack to CLEATUS

Send automated workflow notifications from CLEATUS straight to your Slack channels.

Connect your Slack workspace so CLEATUS workflows can post notifications to your channels. When a workflow runs, a Slack Message action drops the result into the channel you pick, so your team hears about a new match or a status change without leaving Slack.

Who this is for

CLEATUS users who run Workflows and want the output to land in Slack.

What you'll need

  • A Slack workspace where you can authorize an app.
  • Permission in Slack to add the CLEATUS bot to the channels you want it to post to.

Set up the connection

  1. Open Settings, then Integrations, and find the Slack card. Click it, then click Connect to Slack to authorize CLEATUS in your workspace.
  2. In Slack, add the CLEATUS bot to each channel you want it to post to: open the channel, type /invite, and pick the CLEATUS bot. The bot can only post to channels it has been added to.
  3. In the workflow editor, add a Slack Message action to a workflow and select one of those channels.
  4. Run the workflow. The notification posts to the channel you chose.

How it works

The connection is per entity. Once Slack is authorized, any workflow on that entity can use a Slack Message action. The action posts as the CLEATUS bot, only in channels the bot has joined. To stop notifications, remove the bot from a channel, or disconnect Slack from the same card in Settings.

Troubleshooting

  • The workflow ran but nothing posted. The bot is not in that channel. Open the channel, type /invite, and add the CLEATUS bot, then run the workflow again.
  • The Slack Message action has no channels to pick. Reconnect Slack from the Integrations card, then add the bot to at least one channel.
