The Defense Commissary Agency intends to extend contract DECA02-98-D-0050 with Tony's Fine Foods for three months, from November 1, 2003, through January 31, 2004. The original contract, awarded in September 1998, covers in-store deli and bakery operations at multiple military commissaries across Idaho, Montana, and Washington. This extension will continue under the same terms and conditions, ensuring uninterrupted delicatessen and bakery resale services until a new competitive contract is awarded. The contract operates as a requirements contract with a fixed percentage of savings passed on to patrons. This extension is justified under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, which support sole-source contract extensions when no other suppliers can meet the agency's needs. Interested parties must submit written responses demonstrating why competition would benefit the government by October 10, 2003. Absent a clear and convincing response, the contract will be extended without further competition at the government's discretion. Responses should be directed to Phyllis McGowan via fax to the provided number.
