The Canadian Tourism Commission, doing business as Destination Canada (DC) seeks to:
Establish a clear economic baseline, through a study, from which to measure the true value (economic contribution) of business events;
To identify and determine the tourism share of business events economic impact; and
Complete regular updates of the study results.
The primary objective of this project is to conduct a comprehensive economic impact study to determine the value of the business events sector in Canada; the secondary objective is determining the economic contribution to business events arising from tourism activities. This study will provide Destination Canada (DC), Meetings Mean Business Canada (MMBC), and other stakeholders with robust and accurate data on the sector’s contribution to Canada’s economy.
