Laguna Creek Restoration and Flood Control Project

The Laguna Creek Restoration and Flood Control Project, authorized under Fish and Game Code Section 1602 and administered by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife through Agreement EPIMS-CCA-49733-R3, is an ecological restoration initiative led by applicant Deidre Castillo in Contra Costa County. The project aims to enhance habitat for the California red-legged frog by replacing a 243-foot corrugated metal pipe with a natural stream-designed arch culvert, demolishing an existing concrete spillway and replacing it with a natural-materials weir, relocating an 18-inch sewer line, and constructing a low-flow channel and floodplain.
