Meka Vineyard - Vineyard Conversion #P24-00065-ECPA

The Meka Vineyard Conversion project (P24-00065-ECPA) involves the development of 26.0 gross acres of new vineyard, with 19.8 net planted acres, located at 4473 Atlas Peak Road in Yountville, California. Managed by the Napa County Planning, Building, and Environmental Services department, the scope of work includes clearing non-native grassland, toyon chaparral, and black oak woodland, as well as earthmoving and the installation of agricultural infrastructure, including two 50,000-gallon water storage tanks and various erosion control measures. The project is designed to be completed in a single phase, with construction activities scheduled between April and September, including a strict winterization deadline of September 15 to ensure all earth-disturbing activities and drainage improvements are complete. Environmental compliance is a central component of the contract, with a Mitigated Negative Declaration issued under CEQA indicating no significant environmental impacts provided specific mitigation measures are followed. These measures include pre-construction surveys for special-status birds and bats, habitat preservation for oak woodlands, and adherence to a detailed Agricultural Erosion Control Plan.
