The goal is for DHS Components to achieve an enhanced level of interoperability when communicating across broadband solutions and disparate networks. Through this effort, DHS S&T will foster development of improved, tested, and interoperable PTT solutions by industry, tailored to the needs of DHS Components. Additionally, DHS S&T aims to drive the creation of an approved and independently tested equipment list to ensure reliable and standardized communication tools. Furthermore, S&T will ensure that Mission Critical Services (3GPP for Voice, Video and Data) as provided by vendors are compliant and interoperable. This includes assessing cross-carrier and cross-vendor Mission-Critical Communications readiness, identifying potential technology barriers, and providing recommendations to promote industry adoption.
