The project is designed to improve channel function, reduce flood-related infrastructure risks, and restore natural sediment and wood transport processes within the stream corridor. The project will 1) remove an existing log jam and accumulated woody debris that is obstructing stream flow and contributing to localized erosion, channel instability, and flood hazards. 2) Excavate and remove trapped sediment and debris deposits associated with the log jam to restore channel capacity and improve hydraulic connectivity. 3) Stabilize disturbed areas using bioengineering techniques, native vegetation, and erosion control measures to promote long-term channel resilience. 4) Restore natural flow patterns and sediment transport processes to improve aquatic habitat conditions for native fish and wildlife. 5) Minimize future debris accumulation through selective removal of unstable woody material while retaining habitat features that support ecological function. 6) Monitor post-construction conditions to ensure project objectives are achieved and that stream channel stability, habitat quality, and flood conveyance capacity are maintained.
