Caltrans approves of the encroachment permit for American Dark Fiber LLC to place temporary traffic control devices and signage, installation of 2,420 feet of underground high-density polyethylene conduit with fiber optic cable, and 3-feet by 5-feet vaults in the Caltrans right-of-way on State Route (SR)1 at postmiles 23.92 to 24.32, in the Cities of Manhattan Beach and El Segundo, County of Los Angeles. Excavation will have a maximum depth of 48 inches, an average width of 12 inches, and a maximum length of 2,420 feet (including 52 feet of open trench excavation with a maximum depth of 48 inches and an average width of 2 feet). The excavation also includes six (6) Horizontal Directional Drill bore pits of size 6 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet deep. No public utilities will be relocated, and no new right-of-way will be acquired for the project.
