Business Preparedness Forum

Frederick County is home to a diverse and growing business community that is essential to the County's economy, workforce, and overall resilience. Businesses, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and critical infrastructure partners face a broad range of risks including workplace violence, active threats, cyber incidents, severe weather, utility disruptions, fire and life safety hazards, and other emergencies that may disrupt operations. While many organizations have implemented security measures and emergency procedures, there remains a need for practical guidance on emergency planning, employee preparedness, emergency communications, business continuity, recovery planning, coordination with public safety agencies, and understanding local fire and life safety requirements, including pre and post occupancy fire and life safety inspections. The Business Preparedness Forum is intended to provide practical information, strengthen public private partnerships, foster collaboration among local stakeholders, and improve organizational preparedness before an emergency occurs. The forum will also provide flexibility to address additional preparedness and resilience topics identified by the Frederick County business community, ensuring the program remains responsive to emerging risks and local needs.
