Cluff Bank Stabilization (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-SON-57991-R3)

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SON-57991-R3 with Kelder Engineering, Inc. for the Cluff Bank Stabilization project. Located at 20566 Front Street in Monte Rio, Sonoma County, the project focuses on the biotechnical stabilization and revegetation of an eroding bank along the Russian River. Pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code, the scope of work includes the stabilization of approximately 4,300 square feet, or 105 linear feet, of the river bank using riprap interplanted with willow stakes. The project will be executed using an excavator to place rock from the top of the slope, ensuring all work occurs outside the wetted portion of the channel. This activity will result in the permanent impact of 4,300 square feet of riparian habitat and the removal of two riparian trees. Access and staging will be managed through an existing driveway and developed backyard. The project is categorized under a Class 3 Notice of Exemption for small facility construction with minor exterior modifications.
