DELIVERABLE: CAT-2, TO PRI 4 REQUESTED SCHEDULE: FY2026, Q1 LOCATION: Dry Dock 4, BREMER-704, PSNS 1391: No REQUIREMENT: Design and Install HVAC and Fire Protection System, 704, PSNS 1. Demo existing dehumidifier and all steam piping. 2. Design and install PLC controlled HVAC system with HMI capable of networking with PLC drainage system and other pumpwell HAVAC system. 3. HAVAC system must provide heating/cooling/dehumidification to ensure space conditioning for substation, groundwater relief and dewatering equipment. 4. Design and install fire protection per UFC 3-600-01 and engineered survey report. NOTES: Reference: (1) PSNS&IMF Fire Protection Engineering Surveys Report, 01Apr 21 N44255-16-D-2006, Work Order 1664197 (Notkin/P2S) (2) UFC 3-600-01 Fire Protection Engineering for Facilities, 08 Aug 16 JUSTIFICATION: The April 2021 PSNS&IMF Fire Protection Engineering Surveys Report identified fire protection deficiencies in the Bremerton Drydock Pumpwells 2¸ 4, 5, and 6. The Pumpwells are classified as multi-story below-grade buildings requiring fire protection. The four Pumpwell buildings, B168, B704, B705 and B706, are special purpose industrial occupancies and are not equipped with fire sprinkler, fire alarm or smoke exhaust systems. The buildings house the main dewatering pumps, drainage pumps, controls and electrical substations that are essential for drydock operations and lack enclosed stairways that would be necessary for occupant egress as well as firefighting operations in the event of a fire. There are floor opening as every level meaning that a fire on any level could spread smoke to all levels quickly. PROJECT STAKEHOLDERS: Nick Arsers 360-204-2847 Dave Barr 360-620-3721
