Project proposes to replace existing substation (STA) M-10B. STA M-10B serves the Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific (JICPAC), Building 400. Building 400 is on the critical facility list. This building can not sustain an extended power outage. STA M-10B is old and deteriorated. There are two transformers in this substation and one has failed. It has been replaced by a temporary transformer. Work will include replacement of the primary switches (with a tie), the two transformers, and the two secondary switchboards. All to be installed within stainless steel enclosures. Photo on the left below, depicts STA M-10B in its dilapidated condition. Notice the roof of the metal enclosure of the primary switch being heavily oxidized. Photo on the right below, shows the temporary transformer with above ground temporary conduits for wiring into the existing primary switch and secondary switchboard.
