Full Description

The Northern Region Contracting Center (NRCC) intends to negotiate and award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Language Weaver Inc., 4640 Admiralty Way, Marina Del Rey, CA, to provide foreign language translations based on the statistical approach to machine language translation. The Army Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, AZ requires modification of Language Weaver Translation Software to incorporate a statistical-based Thai Language translation that includes bidirectio nal translation with English to and from the Thai language. In addition, the Intelligence Center requires enhancements made to an already fielded Hindi to English statistical based machine translation software. The NAICS Code is 541511, Custom Computer Pr ogramming Services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however, all proposals received will be considered by the Government. A written solicitation will not be issued. All responsible sources are encouraged to submit a pro posal in writing that may be used by the Government in determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Your response shall include your companys capability to do this type of work. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional area expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition.
