Susan Flores serves as a Contracting Officer, acting as a primary point of contact for the agency's procurement activities. In this role, she is responsible for managing the acquisition lifecycle and ensuring that procurement actions align with the agency's operational mission and regulatory requirements. Regarding set-aside preferences, there is a significant emphasis on socio-economic participation. Approximately half of the procurement actions are unrestricted, while a substantial portion is dedicated to Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Total Small Business Set-Asides. A small percentage of acquisitions are conducted via single-source justifications where only one responsible source can satisfy the agency's requirements. Her procurement activity is heavily concentrated in the medical and scientific instrument sector. Technical domain expertise is evident in the acquisition of analytical laboratory instruments, electromedical and electrotherapeutic apparatus, and the manufacturing of surgical and medical instruments and supplies. Additionally, there is a focus on the repair and maintenance of electronic and precision equipment.
