Contract Search FAQ

Quick FAQ for CLEATUS Contract Search.

Contract Search lets you find active and upcoming government contracting opportunities across federal, state, local, and city sources in one place.

Type a keyword (e.g., "IT staffing," "roofing," "cybersecurity") in the search bar and press Enter. Results update instantly.

What does "relevance" mean?

CLEATUS uses AI to rank contracts by how well they match your business profile. Search results are sorted by relevance by default so your best-fit opportunities appear first.

How do I write a proposal for a contract?

Add the contract to your Pipeline first — this unlocks the AI features. Click Add to Pipeline, then open the contract from there.

How do I change the sort order?

Click the Sort by dropdown in the top right to sort by relevance, date posted, or deadline.

Which filters can I use?

Filter by jurisdiction (federal, state, local, city), agency, state, NAICS, set-aside, posted date, and response deadline.

Can I save a search and get alerts?

Yes. Click Save Search to reuse your criteria. If alerts are available on your plan, toggle Email Alerts to get updates when new matches appear.

What if I can't find a contract, or only I have access?

You can import a contract. Go to Pipeline → Import Contract (top right). Imported contracts are visible only to your organization.

How do I find small business opportunities only?

Use the Set-Aside filter (Small Business, WOSB, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB).

How fresh is the data?

The CLEATUS contract database is updated several times a day.
